    Traveling...

So I'm going to up to Northwest Arkansas for 3 days in December to see Philip Miller and his new wife Samantha Miller. If I leave early enough, I'm going to try and stop by JBU to visit some professors, which is cool. Then, in January, Chris will be the one doing the traveling to come and see me in Texas! Excitement!!!

I going to the old ladies knitting group tomorrow for the first time. I totally forgot how to finish a scarf, so I'm sure one of them will show me how to finish it up. Where is Julia and Evie when I need them?

I recommend everyone go to Starbucks and get a Pumpkin Spice Latte, and while your at it, ask for the free Song of The Day cards.....these songs are 20 times better than the free Single of The Week on iTunes.

My niece, who is 6 yrs. old, knows how to properly use the word "distinguished" in a sentence. I'm very proud.

I went to the mall and saw Dan In Real Life with my mom this weekend. It was sooo good! Definitely a must-see. While we were killing time before the movie, I was looking for a plain, black, zip-up hoodie. I couldn't find anything. There were only hoodies with random, crappy letters and tacky graphics printed on them. Seriously, whatever happened to simplicity? I just want something that will keep me warm in the mornings at work, at least until it the store warms up. Oh well, I haven't given up.

One of my clients is an elderly lady who belongs to a knitting group that she started at her church. They meet on Thursday mornings and all they do is talk and knit. It reminds of knitting parties at JBU. I think I shall attend. Old ladies are great, and a wealth of information especially when it comes to life...I think I could use some of their knowledge.

It's been a while, I know. I always say that, I know. But I think I've officially decided to resume Xanga. I can't promise everyday, but I can promise that I'll at least post a couple of times a week.

Let's see where to start. Well, life has been going great. After being at Apple for almost a year, I have now been promoted to Lead Creative, full-time. It's really just a big fancy term for "teacher". Never in my life would I have imagined being a teacher, but I must say that it's pretty fun! My youngest client is 10 yrs. old and my oldest client is 74 yrs. old! My clients' computer knowledge can range from being absolutely none to advanced. Everyday is a surprise...I never know what kind of questions I'm going to encounter. And everyday, without fail, I learn something new. My fellow co-workers are awesome, and basically, we're one, big happy family. When I started working at Apple, I seriously thought I would only be there for a short period of time, but now, I've become attached. I honestly don't know how long I'll be with Apple, I really love what I'm doing right now, but I'm open to whatever God has for me. If my future is with Apple, great, if not, that's cool too. I'm still able to do some freelance graphic design on the side, although, right now I'm not doing anything b/c I'm knitting 2 scarves.

    That's enough about work.

Chris and I are doing great. We miss each other terribly though. If we had it our way, we'd get married tomorrow! But as much as we would like to be impetuous, we have a sneaky suspicion that our parents would be deeply unhappy with us. So, we shall wait. In the meantime, we're able to do video chats every other night, which helps mitigate our long-distance situation. Also, his parents decided that for one of his Christmas presents, they would pay for a round-trip ticket to Texas to come and see me in January! The last time we saw each other was the first of September, so yeah, I'm definitely looking forward to January!

Tonight, my dad and I are going to over to the house of my friend Ryan, and we are going to pick up his drum set and keep it for him for a few months, at least until he can get it shipped to New York. Two summers ago, I wanted to learn the drums and my dad, being the drummer that he is, would try and teach me some stuff at his band's practices. This worked out fine for the summer, but then when I went back to JBU to start my senior year, I had no venue in which to continue my studying of the drums, at least not for free. So, now that we will actually have a drum set in our house, I can pick up where I left off. I'm soooo excited!!!

I love this time of year! Monday was the first cold and rainy day we've had in Texas. As I was walking outside that day to go on my lunch break, I was just all smiles. At that point, I questioned whether or not if something is wrong with me. Here I am, smiling away when it's cold, wet and gloomy, but when it's hot and sunshiny, I'm thoroughly disappointed. Am I alone in this? Haha! I'm also looking for any good recipes that contain pumpkin. I love pretty much anything that contains pumpkin, so if anyone knows of anything good to make, send the recipes my way.

    Later!

17 days till I go to New Jersey for a full week and spend time with my Christopher!

Below is a picture of my countdown widget:

Oh, and I didn't when the shoe contest. There were like 40 shoes entered, however, I did make it into the top 10. Maybe someday when I become affluent, I can frivolously spend my money on such things as personally designed shoes.

I also recommend the above book. Chris and I are reading it and we really like the topics it touches on. Whether you are single, in a relationship, or engaged, you'll find that it addresses the needs of all people no matter what status you are in.

I think I might resume on making more frequent xanga entries. I kinda miss it. We shall see.
